Dowling College Professor To Stand Election
Dowling College Professor Dr. Robert Youth of East Patchogue To Stand for Election to Eastern Psychological Association Board
OAKDALE, NY - Dr. Robert Youth, Professor of Psychology at Dowling College and East Patchogue Resident, has been invited by The Nominating Committee of the Eastern Psychological Association to stand for election to a position as a Member-At-Large of the EPA Board of Directors.
Dr. Robert Youth has been a member of the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA) for over 30 years. He earned his doctoral degree in psychology at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Dr. Youth is a certified psychologist in New York State. His professional work focuses on performance evaluation and labor-management relations. Dr. Youth has experience in the areas of contract management, grievance/arbitration work, and personnel problems.
Dr. Youth has over 25 years of administrative experience as a Psychology Department chair. He has served on the Psi Chi National Council and he has been President of the National Honor Society in Psychology. Dr. Youth is also a past-President of the Personnel/Industrial Organizational Psychology Division of the New York State Psychological Association. Dr. Youth has served as project director for two NSF grants. He has been recognized for his teaching excellence.
Dr. Youth has been a presenter at EPA annual meetings as well as having organized and chaired their programs. He has organized luncheons for students with distinguished speakers at EPA. Dr. Youth also has experience with having spoken, developed programs and having brought distinguished speakers to annual meetings at the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, the New England Psychological Association, the Southeastern Psychological Association, the Midwestern Psychological Association, and at the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association. Through his affiliation with Psi Chi, Dr. Youth currently serves as its liaison to the Board of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology.
