The Teeny Awards on the Web
East End Arts Council Expands Internet Presence
Riverhead, NY - The East End Arts Council announces that it has expanded the Teeny Awards Internet presence by adding a YouTube channel and a MySpace page.
“These two sites are used by millions of people each day,” said Toni Munna, Teeny Awards Coordinator. “Teens are very internet-savvy. It’s another way for theatre students to communicate with each other and for us to get information to them, as well as to thank our sponsors by providing additional exposure.”
The YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/theteenyawards) currently has a slide show of photos from past awards ceremonies. The pages at www.myspace.com/theteenyawards include photos, as well. Other information about this theatre arts recognition program is available as well. Students are encouraged to visit these sites to see and share photos and video recordings of the awards ceremony, as well as their own high school shows.
Interested parties may visit the EEAC’s website (http://www.eastendarts.org/education/teeny.html), or blog (theteenyawards.blogspot.com). Anyone wishing to add photos to either site may contact Ms. Munna at teenyawards@yahoo.com. Information is also available by calling 631-727-0900.
About The Teeny Awards
A collaborative project of East End Arts Council and Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, The Teeny Awards was established in 2002 to provide recognition and encouragement to high school theatre students and to raise awareness in the community of the importance of theatre arts in education. The program is made possible due to its sponsors, including Target and Bridgehampton National Bank.
