LONG ISLAND PRESS RELEASES

For Immediate Release: February 28, 2008

Four Woman Show at the Patchogue Theatre

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts presents “Another Sublime Evening” with four women and their songs LIVE IN THE LOBBY. Thursday, April 3 at 7:00

patchoguetheatre.jpgCathy Kreger and What It Iz headline the evening with Cathy Kreger’s passionate lead vocals and solid acoustic guitar.  The sound of Cathy Kreger and her band What it Iz mixes Blues and Jazz with spanking rhythms, superb vocals, and lush guitar work, turning folk, rock, blues, and pop influences into a lyrical and melodic style that is as passionate as it is polished. Her irresistable voice and guitar has earned her a place on stage with world-class acts, including Bonnie Raitt, David Bromberg , the Band and Aztec Two-Step.

23 year old Amanda Kaletskyof Connecticut is the first featured performer, who Relix Magazine said “has the voice of a pop star but the soul of a singer/songwriter.  Her infectious [music] finds a middle ground between New York’s homey downtown clubs and the polish of Top 40 radio”.

The evening opens with the Songwriter Spotlight, two short sets from Long Island singer/songwriters.  Katie Pearlman is usually found behind the drums and singing for the Katie Pearlman band, but will make her Live in the Lobby debut with a rare acoustic guitar and vocal performance.  Jessie Haynes has played the Patchogue Theatre part of Blackmore’s Night, with her own band and and as a solo performer, and will return for a solo acoustic performance of a medley of her songs.

Live in the Lobby is a series of concerts for small audiences held in the lobby of the historic Patchogue Theatre, usually on the first Thursday of every month. These concerts feature artists from the Long Island area playing a wide variety of mostly original music in an intimate and comfortable setting.  All ages are welcome.  Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 71 E. Main Street, Patchogue. Tickets $10.00 at the box office and by phone (631)207-1313. www.PatchogueTheatre.com
