Psychic Jeffrey Wands Returns to the Patchogue Theatre

Annual event to benefit Patchogue - Medford PTA Council Cultural Arts Programs

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is pleased to welcome back renowned psychic Jeffrey Wands, conducting psychic readings in the audience in a benefit for the Patchogue Medford PTA  Council to support cultural arts programs for students in the Patchogue-Medford School District.

BIOGRAPHY OF JEFFREY WANDS - While watching T.V. at the tender age of 6, Jeffrey’s great grandmother, Mary, appeared in front of him and spoke.  What made this incident unusual is that Mary had been dead for over 23 years.  This incident was Jeffrey’s first psychic experience and was the beginning of his life work as a psychic.  Other psychic experiences followed that were both visual and audio.  He not only could communicate with the dead but he could also predict events and information about people. He did not label his ability but he knew it was different.  In fact, he repressed his ability in fear that his peers would think him a freak. He wasn’t always successful in hiding his ability.  Occasionally, he would blurt out indiscriminate information such as baseball game scores or health information for his friends and family.  He never revealed too much information so people wouldn’t get suspicious. However, his predictions were so accurate that people took notice.

While in college at St. Johns University, Jeffrey originally wanted to be a lawyer but became disillusioned with the profession and changed his major to hospital administration. By working in the healthcare field he felt he could help people which he felt was his destiny.  Then one day while sitting in the school cafeteria, he was approached by a shy girl who heard he was a psychic.  She asked him for help with an abusive relationship and was extremely impressed by his foresight. The word then spread throughout the school and beyond.  He was now doing readings on and off campus.  He tried to resist becoming a “professional psychic” but he realized he had to follow the path set before him.  Upon graduation he decided to pursue his life work as a psychic

In 1988 he married Dawn, a cardiothoracic nurse & real estate agent. Jeffrey and Dawn have two sons, Christopher and Robert. When his first son was born he almost gave up his career as a psychic in fear that it would embarrass his children.  Another psychic put things into perspective for him and explained that this was a “calling” not a choice.

Jeffrey Wands has hosted his own radio show in New York for many years.  Currently, his show, Psychic Sundays, can be heard on 97.5 WALK FM and is also accessible on the internet through www.walkradio.com.  He has also made many television appearances, most recently on A&E’s Mediums: We See Dead People, Maury and the Today show.  Jeffrey’s personal appearances sell out quickly and he has thousands of clients who wait for up to a year for an appointment.  Jeffrey has come to understand that everyone has some psychic ability within them. These hidden abilities, within us, can enrich our lives and the lives of others.  In his first book, The Psychic in You, published by Simon & Schuster, he would like you to embark on this journey and help you to release the Psychic in you.  Jeffrey’s newly released, second book, Another Door Opens, also published by Simon & Schuster, is filled with inspiring and unforgettable true stories. Even the most skeptical reader will be shown how to open doors in their own lives, as well as how to keep communication open with departed loved ones.

The First Annual Ride for Toys of Hope

The First Annual Ride for Toys of Hope

toysofhope.gif

A little over 14 years ago, a young woman here on Long Island named Melissa Doktofsky saw a need. She realized that for many needy or homeless kids, the holidays were not something that brought a lot of joy. So back in 1994, Melissa began purchasing toys and delivering them to shelters, community centers and the homes of needy families. She did this out of her own pocket on her own time. But as time passed, she saw that the need was larger than she could fill herself so she began to reach out to local individuals and businesses to donate toys and help deliver them.

Thus began Toys of Hope. Today, Toys of Hope is a year round organization that provides many services to Long Island’s needy and homeless. Not just toys anymore, Toys of Hope also provides books, school supplies, clothing and other necessities to families, helping them become more self-sufficient, thereby improving the lives of their children. Understanding the joy a pet can give a family, Toys of Hope runs a program called Poor Paws which delivers donated pet food and supplies so families never have to make the difficult choice of feeding their pets or themselves.

There are a number of programs run by Toys of Hope ranging from their Literacy Program to private tennis lessons for Long Island’s underprivileged kids.

Toys of Hope operates year round and is completely volunteer driven. There are no paid employees and ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF ALL FUNDS CONTRIBUTED GO TOWARDS HELPING LONG ISLAND’S NEEDY CHILDREN, THEIR FAMILIES AND THEIR PETS.

That’s right. Every dollar, every dime. Goes to the ones that really need it.

If you live in or are going to be in the New York Area on Sunday June 1st, please mark your calendar now and join us for what is going to be an amazing day and a truly wonderful event. The First Annual Toys of Hope Motorcycle Run and Benefit.

If you are not in the area, you can make a donation to Toys of Hope. You can donate online at their website, www.toysofhope.org. Your donation is tax-deductible and every dime goes to the ones that really need it.

   The Caring Coral Curator

Atlantis Marine World Aquarium to Donate Corals to Georgia Aquarium

Atlantis Marine World Aquarium is donating more than 100 pieces of propagated corals to Georgia Aquarium (Atlanta). Atlantis Marine World’s Curator and Co-Founder, Joseph Yaiullo, is hand-delivering the pieces and helping setting up the display.

“I have been working with corals for over 20 years,” explains Yaiullo. “Back then, it was a challenge just to keep them alive; now, I take great pleasure in growing and sharing a wide variety of corals with Aquarists and Aquariums around the world.”

Georgia Aquarium reached out to Yaiullo to consult on their exhibit during its planning stages. Now, Yaiullo will dive into Atlantis Marine World’s own tank, which is the largest all-living coral display in this hemisphere, and frag corals which will then be shipped to Georgia Aquarium. Yaiullo will then follow the corals to Atlanta, where they will first be placed into their quarantine system for acclimation. This acclimation period will last about 30 days. Yaiullo will then travel back to Georgia Aquarium to help place the coral pieces into the exhibit.

Since Atlantis Marine World Aquarium’s opening in 2000, Yaiullo has shared his extensive knowledge of corals, as well as his surplus of the living pieces, more than 20 times to a variety of Aquariums around the world.
