Long Islander Working on First Feature Length Film
Long Islander,  Alexia Anastasio Working on First Feature Length Film
Long Islander Alexia Anastasio, who directed, starred and self-distributed two short films, “Church 4 Sale” and “Salome,” and edited the feature documentary, “Vampira: The Movie”, is working on her first feature length film, “I Believe.” The film is about a group of college live action role players that dress up like faeries. They go through their trial and tribulations trying to graduate while relationships and drama get in the way. Alexia has appearances at two major conventions coming up, which includes New York Comic Con at the Javits Center April 18-20, and Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors in Los Angeles, CA April 25-27.
There will also be a fund raiser held on Sunday, May 4 at the Cinema Arts Center in Huntington, NY. The event includes live performances by Alexia and other local bands, auctions, food, and of course, girls dressed up like faeries. Auction prizes include VIP tickets to the Colbert Report, Singing Lessons, A Date with the Star & Director as well as some of the cast, crew and Cinema staff. Proceeds will benefit the production of “I Believe.”Â
Festivities begin at 7:30pm.Â
Cinema Arts Centre is located on 423 Park Ave. Huntington, NY 11743Â
