The Islip Town Branch NAACP, Urban League of Long Island, and PAL are sponsoring a Youth Empowerment/Stop the Violence Campaign scheduled for Thursday August 14, 2008 thru Sunday, August 17, 2008. The event’s primary focus areas are health, education, financial literacy, political action, and community investment. All events are FREE!

Thursday, August 14, 2008: YOUTH EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOPS Brentwood HS 2 6th Ave - Islip 11717 Time: 5PM-10PM

Friday, August 15, 2008: NAACP YOUTH PERFORMING ARTS NIGHT
NYIT Student Activities Center 300 Carleton Ave - Central Islip 11722 Time: 5:30PM-10PM

Saturday, August 16, 2008: NAACP YOUTH EMPOWERMENT DAY
First Baptist Church of Bay Shore 175 2nd Ave Bay Shore – 11706
Time: 12PM-4PM

Sunday, August 17, 2008: STOP THE VIOLENCE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT in Memory of Robert Adams
Central Islip Recreation Center 555 Clayton St - Central Islip 11722
Time: 2PM-8PM

Through the inaugural, “Islip Town NAACP Youth Empowerment Campaign”, we will provide a platform of constant support for at-risk youth residing in the various communities throughout Islip Town.
