THE 4TH ANNUAL SCION NYBB PRO BODYBOARDING USBA CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY VERIZON WIRELESS
Long Beach, NY - The 4th Annual SCION NYBB Pro presented by Verizon Wireless will take place at Lincoln Blvd. in Long Beach, NY Sept 3-7. New York is the 5th stop on the USBA Bodyboarding Championship Tour, and some of the world’s top pros are in town, such as 2007 World Champion Jeff Hubbard (HI), Rusty Friesen (CA), Jacob & Jonah Romero (HI) and many others.
With what will soon be Hurricane Hanna taking aim at the East Coast, the anxious athletes who have traveled to Long Island to compete for cash and valuable USBA tour points wait with high hopes of what the weekend might bring - EPIC surf conditions in the 8-12′ range. With an amazing level of competition on hand, the NYBB Pro promises to deliver an action-packed event with death-defying waves, deep tubes, and high-flying maneuvers!
Top local pros will fiercely defend their home turf, such as 2-time East Coast ESA Champ John Heyman who tied Jeff Hubbard for 5th in the 1st Annual NYBB Pro, and other top names around New York such as Miguel Aguilar, Bob Baldwin, Matt Clark, Dave Kessler, Miguel Ochoa, Phil Parr, Tim Seif and Brian Vitalo. Other top names from the East Coast such as New Jersey’s Jason Bitzer and Maryland’s Brian Stoehr will look to play spoiler.
