“Celebrate 30 Under 30” Recognition Event
 
(Long Island, N.Y.) The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce’s “Under 30″ Committee is pleased to announce that the nomination window is open for the “Celebrate 30 Under 30″ Recognition Event to be held March 30th. This event will showcase 30 top professionals under the age of 30 on Long Island across multiple career fields.
 
The “Under 30″ committee was formed in 2006 to help better serve some of the younger members of the Chamber of Commerce. The group’s membership consists of entrepreneurs, corporate employees, teachers, and non-profit personnel. The committee’s successful programs have included timely issues such as first time home buying, networking skills, cleaning up your credit, and business planning.
 
The most recent initiative of the committee is the “Celebrate 30 Under 30″, to be held on March 30th at 3:30pm. With recent news about Long Island losing young talent to other parts of the country, the “Under 30″ committee will promote the success stories of those younger professionals who choose to stay and work on Long Island.
 
Nominations are currently being accepted through the Chamber’s website, www.huntingtonchamber.com,  and will close December 30th. Nominees will be notified and mailed applications during the month of January. There is no cost to nominate, and Chamber membership is not necessary.
 
A distinguished panel of judges will review the applications, which consist of seven questions asking the applicants to describe their professional and educational successes, as well as their commitment to improving the communities in which they live or work.
 
The “Celebrate 30 Under 30″ campaign was launched at the monthly meeting on October 23rd at Rookie’s in Huntington. Laptops with wifi access were available for participants to begin the nomination process.  Nominate your favorite young person today!!
