On Feb. 12, Fair Media Council Presents Expert Secrets To Get You Ready to Face the Media

(Long Island, N.Y.)
The Fair Media Council Media presents, ” ‘I Didn’t Say That!’ Expert Secrets to Get Media Ready,” a Media Fix Workshop on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Four Points Sheraton, Plainview. This topic will focus on media relations and explain what organizations must do to successfully get ready to use media relations to raise their profiles and grow their businesses.

The Fair Media Council’s Media Fix Workshop series, exclusively sponsored by St. Joseph’s College, is designed specifically for small businesses and nonprofit organizations to improve all facets of communication skills.

“There’s a process people need to be aware of in order to make media relations work for them,” said FMC Executive Director Jaci Clement.  “With the economic downturn, it’s vital for organizations to stay at the forefront of people’s minds in order to remain profitable.  Media relations, when done well, can be a serious tool in the business survivor’s toolbox.”

This Fair Media Council workshop will be presented by Arthur Germain, principal and chief brandteller of Communication Strategy Group, a brand marketing agency.

Tickets are $40 for FMC members, $65 for nonmembers. To reserve your tickets, which include continental breakfast and networking time, call 516.224.1860, ext. 100. Tickets must be paid in advance and are nonrefundable. A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible, to the extent allowable by law. Walk-ins pay an additional $10 at the door, if space is still available in the workshop. Space is limited and reservations are recommended.

The Fair Media Council is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization that advocates for quality local news and educates the public on issues affecting news coverage. To join the 200-plus companies that are members of the Fair Media Council, please visit us at www.fairmediacouncil.org.
