An Exhibition and Sale Celebrating Women’s History Month

The Smithtown Township Arts Council is pleased to announce its exhibition celebrating Women’s History Month, A Pinch and a Dash, to be held March 28- April 19, 2009, at the Mills Pond House Gallery in St. James. The exhibition seeks to examine the American woman’s changing role in the kitchen, from rural times when a woman’s biscuits defined her reputation, to twentieth century ready-made preparation. Juror: Connie Koppelman, PhD, independent curator and speaker on subjects in women’s art. The public is invited to an opening reception March 28 2-4pm. to meet exhibiting artists and view their work. Admission to the gallery is free.

Deadline for entries  is Feb. 13, 2009
