Artists Complement East End Arts Council’s Winterfest ‘Jazz on the Vine’ 2009

(Riverhead, NY) - The ‘jazzy art’ of Sibylle-Maria Pfaffenbichler and the exquisite, small abstract images of John Randolph will be on display at the Jamesport Manr Inn Rosalie Dimon Gallery during Jazz on the Vine 2009, which takes place at area wineries from February 14 – March 22, 2009. A jazz performance by Serenade, a guitar and flute duo featuring Gerald Saulter and Michelle LaPorte, will take place at the opening reception at 3 pm on Sunday, February 22nd.

Ms. Pfaffenbichler’s work consists of bold interpretations of music and dance from the early era of Jazz up to the Rock n’ Roll of the 60′s. Her favorite media are charcoal willow sticks, pastel, oil and acrylic. Ms. Pfaffenbichler has had several large solo exhibitions in New York City, the Hamptons, and Vienna, Austria. The strong sense of movement and music in her art makes it dovetail perfectly with the season of jazz planned for Winterfest 2009.

John Randolph’s work is deeply mysterious and complex, rich in color and texture, and profound in its semi-abstract subject matter. His paintings combine ghost images with strategic strokes of color that evoke drama and heightened sensibility.

The Rosalie Dimon Gallery is located in the Jamesport Manor House on Manor Lane in Jamesport. For more information on the Rosalie Dimon Gallery or Winterfest, please check our website at www.eastendarts.org.

Sales of artwork will be made through the East End Arts Council. Rosalie Dimon Gallery shows are a joint effort of the East End Arts Council and the Jamesport Manor Inn.  EEAC exhibits are made possible with support from the New York State Council on the Arts, Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs and the Town of Riverhead.

The Long Island Winterfest “Jazz on the Vine” is a cultural tourism initiative presented in partnership with the Long Island Wine Council and supported by Suffolk County Economic Development, Workforce Housing, Office of Cultural Affairs, and New York State Agritourism. The Winterfest brings free jazz performances into the Vineyards of the East End of Long Island. For a complete listing of offers, visit www.liwinterfest.com.
