East End Arts Council Offers Workshop on Legalities of Copying Art
Riverhead, NY – The East End Arts Council is pleased to present The Vices and Virtues of Copying Art with Alain Khadem, Ph.D., a workshop that explores both the legal and ethical issues associated with the act of copying artwork. It is intended to help artists and laymen understand under what circumstances it is permissible to use someone else’s work and when copying might infringe on an artist’s intellectual property rights. The one-day workshop will take place on Saturday, February 7 from 10 am – noon at the EEAC Carriage House. The cost to attend is $12 for members and $20 for non-members.

Bio for Alain Khadem, Ph.D.
Alain Khadem is a digital artist with a background in law. He has conducted extensive research on Copyright Law and conducted several workshops on the subject at the East End, Smithtown Township, and Huntington Arts Councils. He has a law degree from Hofstra University, a Ph.D. in international law from Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from New York University.
