Island Harvest Names Marc Tell to Board of Directors
(Mineola, N.Y.) Island Harvest has named Marc Tell to its Board of Directors according to an announcement by Randi Shubin Dresner, president and chief executive officer of Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization.
Mr. Tell, a Woodbury resident, is owner of The Sam Tell Companies, a Farmingdale, NY-based food service equipment and supplies distributor. He has been instrumental in growing the firm founded by his grandfather into one of the country’s largest suppliers to the food service industry. Recognized for his philanthropic activities, Mr. Tell was honored in 2000 by the UJA Federation as its Man of the Year for his philanthropic activities. Mr. Tell also serves on a number of industry-related advisory boards.
“Marc brings an incredible amount of experience and business acumen to our Board of Directors,” said Ms. Shubin Dresner. “His skill set will add a new dimension to an already robust board, each of whom adds an unparalleled level of professional talent in helping Island Harvest expand on our mission of fighting hunger on Long Island.”
