Rough Riders Host Hicksville Americans Club Night

(Plainview, N.Y.) – The Long Island Rough Riders men’s and women’s team will return home Saturday night, June 20th after playing two games each on the road. The doubleheader will be sponsored by the Hicksville Americans Soccer Club, who will have players participating as ball kids, dream teams, and involved in half time mini games throughout the night. American Challenge will be giving out 200 sack packs and raffling off soccer balls for fans in attendance.

At 5PM, the Rough Riders women (3-3-1, 10 pts.) will host the Connecticut Passion (2-3-1, 7 pts.). The women will look to rebound after a disappointing 2-1 loss at the hands of the Boston Renegades last Sunday. Now sitting in third place, the Rough Riders would like to get back on the winning side of things in their quest to return to the USL W-League playoffs for the second straight season.

In the second half of the doubleheader, the Rough Riders men’s team (9-1-0, 27 pts.) will take on the undefeated Ottawa Fury (6-0-1, 19 pts.) at 7:30PM. Riding a seven game win streak, the Rough Riders currently hold an eight point lead ahead of the Fury. Two of the Rough Riders next three games will come against Ottawa as well as a second meeting with the Ocean City Barons on Tuesday night at Cy Donnelly Stadium.

Both games will be played at Cy Donnelly Stadium located at St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, N.Y. with gates opening at 4PM.

Throughout the night, soccer equipment supplier American Challenge and the Rough Riders will be holding raffles for fans in attendance. Two fans with lucky ticket numbers will receive six soccer balls, courtesy of American Challenge.
