Attorney General Cuomo’s Office Brings Consumer Awareness Initiative To Amityville
(Long Island, N.Y.) On Wednesday July 1, 2009 at 8:00 AM, a representative from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s Office will speak to the Amityville Chamber of Commerce on consumer fraud as part of Attorney General Cuomo’s statewide Consumer Awareness Initiative. Alan Berkowitz, Assistant Attorney-in-Charge of Cuomo’s Suffolk Office, will inform participants on how to best avoid consumer scams, such as sweepstakes, bank freezes, mail orders, fake charities, “phishing” emails, and check cashing scams. This event is being hosted by Suffolk County Legislator DuWayne Gregory.
