13th Annual Island Harvest Golf Classic To Honor Roy Dimarco
 
(Mineola, N.Y.)  Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, is holding its 13th Annual Golf Classic at prestigious The Creek Club in Locust Valley.  The fundraising event will take place on Thursday, July 30, and helps support Island Harvest’s mission in ending hunger and reducing food waste on Long Island.
 
This year the event will honor longtime Island Harvest supporter and board member Roy DiMarco, president of the Rockville Centre-based marketing and public relations agency, Harrison Leifer DiMarco.
 
In addition to great golf with good friends at one of the area’s premier golf courses, the tournament will feature Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Hole-in-One contests. Any golfer, skilled (or lucky) enough to score a hole-in-one will win a brand new Mercedes Benz, courtesy of Helms Brothers Mercedes Benz of Bayside, New York. Gold Sponsors to date include Bouchard Transportation, the I. Waldbaum Family Foundation and NIC Holding Corp. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are still available. Foursomes are going fast so interested golfers are urged to sign up as soon as possible.
 
The Classic will begin at 10:30 a.m. with brunch and registration, followed by a 12:00 p.m. shotgun start and will conclude with a beach party and awards celebration at 5:30 p.m.  Golf registration including the beach party is $750 per player, $3,000 for a foursome and it will cost $150 for non-players to attend the highly popular beach party immediately following the tournament.  Some of the great prizes to be auctioned off at the beach party include: threesome with lunch at Winged Foot Golf Club; tickets to a taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart; a Mercedes-Benz kids pedal car; golf foursome at Fresh Meadows Country Club; Mets, Yankees and Ducks tickets and lots more.
