What is Your Vacation Worth to You?
In a Recession Market, Hamptons Resorts Offers Budget-Conscious Vacationers a Chance to Name Their Own Vacation Price
(Southampton, N.Y.) – What would you spend for a three-night weekend or a seven-night stay in the Hamptons during the summer? There are those that spend $30-50,000 a month for the summer Hamptons experience but Hamptons Resorts & Hotels (HRH), operator of three upscale boutique motels in the Hamptons is turning traditional hotel rates upside down by offering vacationers a chance to name their own price for a three-night long weekend or seven-night stay at The Atlantic hotel.
Customers are being asked to email their bids for a three-day weekend or a seven-night stay at HRH’s Atlantic hotel to bids@hamptonsresorthotels.com. Bid reserve is $500 for a three-night weekend and $1,000 for the week – with two-person occupancy that averages out to about $70 per person per night – an unheard of value for the Hamptons. Bids are required to be submitted by 5 pm on Tuesdays (July 28 and August 4, 11, 18 and 25) and winners will be advised the next day of their winning bid and prize fulfillment options. Auction rooms must be used before the end of September 2009. Each bid winner will also receive a special prize with each winning bid – examples include brunch or dinner for two, VIP wine tastings and exclusive discount coupons.
“Many people aren’t taking vacations this summer as they are feeling the pinch of the recession economy,” said David Waksman, owner of HRH. “We just wanted to give some value back to our clients – those that come and stay with us year after year, and this year, to those who are staying closer to home yet still want to have some kind of summer getaway. The Hamptons is a great spot for young people and families with kids and dogs – The Atlantic is a great family-friendly property and is also pet-friendly.”
This summer also sees the launch of HRH’s new web site – www.hamptonsresorthotels.com and some re-branding initiatives with a stylish new logo and updated graphics.
