Huntington Folk Festival Set for Saturday, Aug. 1 – Free
AcousticMusicScene.com, an online publication providing news and commentary for the folk, roots and singer-songwriter communities — will have a major presence at the Fourth Annual Huntington Folk Festival that takes place on Saturday, August 1,at Heckscher Park, Main Street (Route 25A) and Prime Avenue,in Huntington (Long Island), New York.
Peter Rowan headlines the free event that is presented by the Huntington Arts Council and the Folk Music Society of Huntington as part of the Huntington Summer Arts Festival, which is presented by the Town of Huntington and produced by the arts council. Peter Rowan will be joined on the park’s Chapin Rainbow Stage by The Rowan Brothers (Chris and Lorin) for an 8:30 p.m. concert.
During the afternoon, from 3-6 p.m., both AcousticMusicScene.com and Acoustic Live! in New York City & Beyond will host unplugged showcases under small canopy tents featuring artists from the New York metropolitan area and beyond. An open jam/song swap also will take place nearby in the park, as will a free, hour-long banjo workshop.

Festival goers are advised to bring lawn chairs or blankets and to consider bringing a picnic supper or venturing into nearby Huntington Village for dinner.
