Todd Parr’s ‘Feel Good’ Art Becomes Apparel, Exclusively At Nordstrom
NY Times Best-Selling Kid’s Author Designs Line of Tees, Fleece and Dresses.
(Long Island, N.Y.) Known for his colorful, best-selling kid’s picture books like THE MOMMY BOOK, THE I LOVE YOU BOOK and THE PEACE BOOK, artist Todd Parr brings his fun imagery onto a line of new children’s clothes, under the brand, PLANET COLOR BY TODD PARR. The apparel utilizes Parr’s bold, bright quirky images that touch every kids funny bone while also exposing them to meaningful themes like the importance of friendship and preserving the environment. One t-shirt shows a polka-dotted elephant juggling ice cream cones while another shirt expresses a hope for world peace by displaying a bright pink Peace Sign with the caption, “Pink on Earth.” The collection is from U.S. manufacturer, Jen’s ideas, which has been producing apparel for over five years for men, women, and children. The clothing is intended for boys and girls, ages eighteen months to six years old.
A longtime artist, Parr has written and illustrated more than thirty children’s books since 1999 for publisher Little, Brown and Company and has won two National Parenting Publications awards and two Oppenheim Gold awards. His four foot by four foot acrylic paintings have been displayed in top galleries and restaurants around the country including the prestigious Wolfgang Puck Postrio restaurant in San Francisco and the Flourish Gallery in Chicago. In 2000, his painting and artwork filled the entire window collection of FAO Schwarz, Fifth Avenue–the first time this legendary window display featured an artist. Celebrity collectors of his paintings include Rachel Ray; Art Smith–Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef and others.
The PLANET COLOR line makes its department store debut exclusively at select Nordstrom stores on August 15th and can be found in the following locations:
