Second Annual Loughlin Charity Golf Open
To Benefit Military Families Organization: For the Fallen
(Huntington, N.Y.) – The families of military members will be the beneficiaries of the second annual Jim & Yvette Loughlin Charity Golf Open. The event, which will take place on September 14, 2009 at the Indian Hills Country Club in Northport, New York, will benefit For the Fallen, a non-profit organization which was founded in 2004 to provide financial relief to the families of military members that were either killed or wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“The mission of the Jim & Yvette Loughlin Charity Golf Open is to raise money for the benefit of non-profit organizations that do outstanding work improving the quality of life, education and health of underprivileged people throughout the world,” said James J. Loughlin, Jr., founding principal of Loughlin Meghji + Co and co-chairman of the event with his wife, Yvette. “We had a tremendously successful launch of our event last year, which was held to benefit an international children’s charity, International Children’s Care, and we hope to duplicate our success this year to benefit the deserving families of our military.”
“Our military and their families endure terrible burdens as they carry out multiple deployments to combat zones and lengthy tours,” said Yvette Loughlin. “Many of these families have been devastated emotionally and economically by the death or injury of a loved one. FTF exists to help these families cover the costs of food, housing, medical services, college tuition and other expenses.”
Jim and Yvette Loughlin are proud to announce some of the companies who are sponsoring the event: Loughlin, Meghji + Co; Conway, Del Genio, Gries & Co. LLC; UBS; Vision Bank; Marotta Gund Budd & Dzera, LLC; and Owen Blicksilver Public Relations.
Sponsorships are still available, as are tee times for golfers who want to participate in the fundraising effort. For more information please visit www.loughlinopen.org or www.forthefallen.org.
