Bay Shore/Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance Named Both Suffolk and New York State’s EMS Department of the Year.

(Long Island, N.Y.) In early July Bay Shore – Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance (hereinafter “BSBRA”) was named EMS Agency of the year by Suffolk Regional EMS Council, a distinguished honor in and of itself. This mark of distinction, however, was further complemented when it was announced that BSBRA has received the New York State EMS Council Annual Award for Agency of the Year, conferred to that “agency which strives for consistency in EMS excellence and exhibits exemplary performance when providing prehospital emergency medical care.”
 
Of note, this distinction coincides with the celebration of our 50th anniversary (2008), as the award itself recognizes BSBRA 2008 statistics.
 
BSBRA membership includes people from all walks of life, from high school students to practicing attorneys, all of which are dedicated to serving the communities of Bay Shore, Brightwaters, and West Bay Shore. Member certifications range from EMT-B through Paramedic.
 
Outreach to the community has become a staple of the BSBRA way of life, consistently finding distinct ways to reach those in need, from adopting families on Thanksgiving and Christmas to hosting community blood drives on behalf of local hospitals.
 
BSBRA will be holding its annual Open House on August 30, 2009. This is an event whereupon we open our doors to the community in order to better acquaint those we serve with BSBRA.
