Cash Prizes To Be Awarded!
 
(Stonybrook, N.Y.) — Election Day is just around the corner for unique six-foot scarecrows that will stand guard along the winding pathways of the Stony Brook Village Center, Main Street on the Harbor.  The creations will be part of The Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s 19thAnnual Scarecrow Competition. 
 
Official Entry Forms are now available in most Stony Brook Village Center shops, at the offices of WMHO at 111 Main Street, 2nd floor, in Stony Brook or online at www.stonybrookvillage.com. Categories are Professional, Adult/Family and Children’s.  Registration deadline will be September 21 and there is an entry fee of $10.  All scarecrows will remain on display through Halloween.  Winners will be notified by October 28 and receive cash prizes which will be awarded at WMHO’s Annual Halloween Festival, beginning at 2 pm on October 31.  This year’s Main Event Sponsor is Edible Arrangements of Stony Brook.
 
You be the judge! Visitors to the Stony Brook Village Center are invited to cast their vote for their favorites from September 27 to October 25.  Voting Ballots are available in all Village Center shops and eateries or at the offices of WMHO at 111 Main Street in the Village Center.  Don’t forget to vote!
