Learn Creative Paper Techniques in New Fall Art Classes
 
(Riverhead, N.Y.) – The East End Arts Council is pleased to offer an opportunity to learn the artistic techniques of paper embossing and leafage creation at the School of the Arts in Riverhead. Professional paper artist Mona Patel will teach a class in paper embossing and greeting card creation on September, September 26 from 10AM-Noon. Students will be introduced to a variety of tools and techniques used in heat and dry embossing, as well as  methods used to create artistic greeting cards and improve scrap booking.

The following week, Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10AM-1PM, artist Hazel Kahan will guide students  in creating “leafages.” Leafages is a multi-media art form which using pressed leaves and vines interwoven with calligraphy to create one-of-a-kind works of art. Participants will learn the complete process of how to select, press and apply leaves and vines and how to complete the work with words and/or poetry. Registration is going on now for these new classes in paper arts. The fee for each class is $36 for EEAC members/ $45 nonmembers.
