Wantagh meets Bellmore through Photos

(Wantagh, N.Y.) Bellmore’s Ken Thalheimer is now a five-time recipient of the Wantagh dot LI photo contest. In recognition of this achievement, Ken was awarded the Five-Time Recipient Trophy from www.Wantagh.LI and a Citation from Legislator Dennis Dunne (15th district). The ceremony took place prior to a Wantagh Chamber meeting on the evening of December 22 . Ken Thalheimer is the fifth photographer to achieve this five-time level, preceded by Christopher Corradino, Andy Riew, Barry Kurek and David Lepelstat. To mark this milestone, Ken also received a 1-year subscription to the Bellmore Life newspaper and $100 in Wantagh Gift Certificates.

Soon after exploring photography as a hobby back in 1990, Ken began taking his talent seriously and pursued it as a profession. Ken Thalheimer Photography offers a full array of services from personal and corporate portraits, to fine art photography. Although Ken has embraced the digital format since 2002, he still enjoys (and in some cases prefers) shooting in film, both black & white and color.

Ken views photography primarily as an art form, where unusual features can emerge through attention to detail. In Ken’s words, “The art of seeing what normally is not seen. Not only capturing a moment in time, but capturing that moment and subject uniquely.” To assist the community, Ken has provided his service to non-profit organizations, free of charge. He has also taught photography in adult education classes for Nassau County.

Since September of 2002, the Wantagh Website has sponsored a free photography competition were anyone could submit their photos taken in Wantagh. Winning photographers receive an official signed certificate and a Wantagh gift. The winning photo and the photographer’s name are posted on the homepage for the winning month, and are posted permanently in the winner’s list. Photographers of all levels are invited to submit their photos taken in Wantagh. For more information about this free contest, please visit the Wantagh website, www.Wantagh.LI.
