EEAC Launches New Programming at Brecknock Hall
East End Arts Council Launches New Programming at Brecknock Hall in Partnership with Peconic Landing
(Riverhead, N.Y.) – Thanks to a partnership between the East End Arts Council (EEAC) and Peconic Landing Brecknock Hall will soon be filled with the joyful sounds of poetry, music, theatre and dance. The East End Arts Council will offer regular community arts programming at the recently restored 19th century manor home of David Gelston Floyd located on the Peconic Landing campus in Greenport. This marks a significant expansion of EEAC’s cultural and educational offerings for the East End.
Peconic Landing has long envisioned transforming the mansion into a vibrant cultural arts center for the community – a goal that just happened to align perfectly with East End Arts Council’s mission of bringing the arts to all. With its high ceilings and spacious, light-filled rooms, the hall is perfect for dance, theatrical drama and music. “We are so pleased to be working in partnership with the East End Arts Council, an organization dedicated to the enrichment of the arts,” said Robert J. Syron, President and CEO of Peconic Landing, the organization that owns and manages Brecknock Hall. “Our collaborative efforts at Brecknock Hall are a natural connection of the mission of each of our organizations.”
According to Executive Director Patricia Snyder, the EEAC is excited to be bringing its 30+ years of expertise in cultural arts programming to the new location. “North Fork residents living East of Riverhead have longed to be able to enjoy the Council’s many offerings, but find it too far to drive on a regular basis,” she explained. “Now, they can have a fresh taste of the arts right in their own backyard. Brecknock Hall is an extraordinary historic building that’s the perfect landscape as a cultural center for the North Fork.”
