Bodies in Motion Exhibit Inspires Children’s Art Class
 
(Riverhead, N.Y.) – Run, leap, lift, twist! Registration is now open for the School of the Arts “Bodies in Motion” children’s art class, inspired by EEAC’s upcoming gallery show. Class will be held on Tuesdays from 4:30-6 PM, March 9-23. Children age 8+ will explore form in 2D and 3D, learning skills that will express movement in drawings and sculpture. Under the guidance of artist Madoline Archer, they will explore a variety of styles from Degas’ dancers to the sculptures of Henry Moore, culminating in a visit the EEAC gallery Bodies in Motion show, where they will experience the works of local, contemporary artists. Registration is on-going. Cost for the 3-class session is $56 (discount available for EEAC Members). Madoline Archer holds a MA in Art Education from Adelphi University and did post MA work with CW Post / LIU,  School of Visual Arts, NY University. She taught art full-time on the elementary and secondary level for 25 years, and has been involved in teaching part-time for various community organizations, presenting workshops at the local, state and national levels. Ms. Archer is an active member of the National Art Educators Association, Long Island Art Teachers Association and the NYS Art Teachers Association.
 
The School of the Arts at the East End Arts Council has a distinguished roster of faculty members who are professional artists and musicians. Our classes deliver quality, in-depth art and music experiences in a friendly setting. We offer small class size, professional instructors, and over 30 years of expertise in producing arts, theatre and music programs for the local community.
