Artists, Educators – Learn How to Find Grant Money Using the Local Foundation Center Collection

(Riverhead, N.Y.) – The April 8 meeting of the Arts in Education Roundtable, a cooperative project of the East End Arts Council and the New York Council on the Arts will be a free workshop called GRANTS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. This meeting is open to the public and takes place Thursday April 8 at 4PM at the Riverhead Free Library, located at 330 Court Street.  The Foundation Center’s Professional Online database, a valuable resource containing the most accurate and current details available about U.S. funders and their grants, will be demonstrated. Riverhead Free Library’s membership in the Foundation Center’s Cooperating Collection for grant seeking provides a gateway for nonprofit organizations and individuals in their funding research.

The collection at Riverhead Library is one of 230 such specialized collections nationwide, and is an outreach service from the Foundation Center.  Headquartered in NYC, the Foundation Center is a clearinghouse of information for grant seeking organizations, institutions, and individuals. Included in this collection is the most current information on private philanthropy. Nearly 100,000 U.S. Foundations and corporate donors, over 2 million recent grants, and over 500,000 key decision makers become available every year to nonprofit institutions, organizations, and individuals – and this workshop will help you find which ones match your project.

Your roundtable host is Miranda Beeson, Arts in Education Coordinator for the East End Arts Council and an experienced writer of poetry and nonfiction, as well as grants researcher. More information on Miranda can be found at www.mirandabeeson.com

To RSVP, please contact the East End Arts Council at  (631) 727-0900 or email Miranda@mirandabeeson.com

East End Arts Council, established in 1972,  is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization recognized by the IRS and the NYS Bureau of Charities.  Proceeds of all events, sales, classes, donations and memberships benefit our mission of bringing the arts to everyone and inspiring our communities through service, advocacy and education.
