From Westy Self Storage and Share Joy International!

(Hicksville, N.Y.) – In response to the urgent call for help, Westy Self Storage, together with Share Joy International hosted a donation drive to assist the earthquake survivors in Haiti. All 16 locations in the Westy network were designated drop off locations for donations.  Due to the overwhelming response from our communities, 1200 boxes of donated items were shipped to Haiti!

The donations consisted of clothes, shoes, non-perishable food items, linens, much needed hygiene and first aid supplies and more.  Donated items were collected at all Westy locations and then delivered to a centralized Westy location for sorting and packing.  Items were then sorted, repacked and labeled by teams of volunteers to ease the transition through customs and allow for a smooth distribution once they reached Haiti.  

“We are so grateful to all those that assisted with the drive, from the individual donations to the many volunteers who help sort and pack materials,” said Isabel Chase of Share Joy International.  “A special thanks to Westy Self Storage for coordinating the collection, their storage facilities and moving trucks and their never-ending time in facilitating this endeavor.”
