Joe Mohen heard about the RBI program, he knew he would not stop until he created a team in Garden City, bringing kids together from diverse backgrounds to learn how to work as a team and respect one another.

Garden City Bombers Baseball is part of the Major Baseball RBI program designed to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball, encourage academic participation and achievement and teach the value of teamwork.

Saturday’s game will showcase the talent of team, the success of the program and is an opportunity to thank Senator Kemp Hannon for coordinating a tee ball game to be played on Monday, July 26th at the Executive Mansion in Albany, with  the “first pitch” being thrown out by New York Governor David Paterson. After the big game, the boys will be served lunch by the governor’s chef and get a VIP tour of the Executive Mansion.
