Sustainable Long Island Adds Robert Bernard To Board Of Directors
Former Senior Vice President, commercial real estate, Capital One Bank
(Bethpage, N.Y.) Sustainable Long Island is pleased to announce the recent addition of Robert Bernard, senior vice president, commercial real estate, Capital One Bank in Melville, New York, to its Board of Directors.
Robert Bernard has extensive experience in the banking industry dating back 20 years. He has been with Capital One Bank/North Fork Bank as Senior Vice President in commercial real estate lending since 1999. He has directly managed the Long Island-Outer Boroughs commercial real estate lending group. Previously, he held the position of Vice President in commercial real estate lending with NY Community Bank/CFS Bank in Westbury, New York. He managed the Asset Management Department and performed relationship management and underwriting function in the CRE lending group. Prior to that, he has held positions at Union Saving Bank in Patchogue, NY; Beacon Federal Savings Banks in Baldwin, NY; and Westbury Federal S & L Association in Westbury, NY.
Mr. Bernard is involved in fundraising efforts for United Cerebral Palsy of Suffolk and an active participant within numerous Capital One Bank programs and other banking-related organizations. He is also a member of the Bellport Country Club and graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from St. John’s University in 1991.
