Cash Prizes Awarded!
 
(Stony Brook, N.Y.) Once again, it’s time for the Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s Annual Scarecrow Competition!  This will be the 20th year the spooky, silly, scary six-foot creations will adorn the pathways of picturesque Stony Brook Village Center for visitors to enjoy and vote in their favorite.
 
Official Entry Forms are now available in most Stony Brook Village Center shops, at the offices of WMHO at 111 Main Street, 2nd floor, in Stony Brook or online at www.stonybrookvillage.com. Categories are Professional, Adult/Family and Children’s.  Registration deadline will be September 20 and there is an entry fee of $10.  Winners will be notified by October 27 and receive cash prizes which will be awarded at WMHO’s Annual Halloween Festival, beginning at 2 pm on October 31. 
 
Edible Arrangements of Stony Brook is the Main Event Sponsor and the Witches & Ghouls Sponsors are Capital One Bank, Fratelli’s Market Place and Hudson City Savings Bank. All scarecrows will remain on display through Halloween. 
 
You be the judge! Cast your vote for your favorite scarecrow!  Voting Ballots will be available in all Village Center shops and eateries from September 26 to October 24 or at the offices of WMHO at 111 Main Street, 2nd floor, in the Village Center.
