Haunted Playhouse of Horrors returns to the historic family owned property located on Long Island’s south shore

(Long Island, N.Y.) This October, Gateway’s much acclaimed Haunted Playhouse of Horrors returns to the historic family owned property located on Long Island’s south shore, in Bellport. Gateway Playhouse has been operating as a professional theatre for over 60 years, on an estate that’s over 100 years old. It is the perfect naturally eerie backdrop for a haunted journey. The Gateway grounds transform into a labyrinth of horrific and gruesome scenes, which prompted Newsday’s online viewership to vote it last year’s Number #1 Haunted House on Long Island. Last year was just the beginning. This year’s haunt bodes for more chills and thrills as some rather horribly splendid happenings are already being tested for their “evil-abilty.”

On select October nights you can hear a harrowing tale of the tormented Jonah, as he puts his aptitude for science to the test in order to take revenge on any wrongdoers.  Just what he is testing may be difficult to perceive… Creatures strange and enchanting will beckon the tentative and the most daring traveler on as they bravely journey through the depths of horror within the walls and halls and electrifying chambers, where illusions may become more real than you could have imagined. You are guaranteed to be altered, but just how much you are affected will be seen in the end, when you are given an option to choose your own path to retribution.

Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse of Horrors opens in Bellport, Friday, October 1st, and remains open through Halloween. Tickets $18, $10 OPENING WEEKEND ONLY.  Fast Pass Available. The Gateway Playhouse is located at 215 South Country Road, Bellport NY.

Also, take a look at Gateway’s Not So Scary Monster House for children, opening the weekend of October 16th and 17th, and running every subsequent weekend, Saturdays and Sundays, through Halloween. No tricks… but many treats abound for all your little ghouls and goblins.
