(Long Island, N.Y.) Music, Movement, Fashion.  Low-Fi Indie Art Pop. These are just some of the words thrown around about Long Island’s own Independent Artist, Adam Baranello; Creator of AJB Production and co-owner of the A&G Dance Company with Gail Benevente.

Adam makes simple forms of expression (pun well intended) with a minimalist approach to music, hand made clothing line and dance choreography.  His simplistic methods of doing things always go over people’s heads..  People are always looking for more.  How could Adam possibly and quite literally hand make every shirt order that comes in?  Even at the peak of the internet craze of supporting indie art when his orders would keep him up all night.  How could he not use all the technology available to him to make music?  Why would he purposefully leave imperfections and vocal inflections on his recordings?  Why does his dance choreography seem so open and empty?  Why doesn’t he have MORE dancers in his music videos?   Why doesn’t he use more editing in his music videos?  Why would he leave huge chunks of footage alone and not edit them more?

These are some of the questions that make people crazy about AJB. 

AJB does music composition, production, videos, choreography, editing, songwriting, performing, fashion and let’s not forget to mention that they teach kids how to dance in schools all over the Island.  .  AJB also has a guerilla style marketing  team branding their logo all over the internet and in the streets selling the AJB brand as a whole piece of art.  AJB is Music, Movement & Fashion.  AJB is art, pop and independent.  AJB is simple and honest and real.

Adam has been leading AJB Production since 2005 utilizing myspace as a promotional tool and made a huge impact on the world selling thousands of albums and T shirts to 28 countries.  He has hundreds of fan pictures on his myspace still to prove it.  He also made a huge impact in the music industry influencing major artists and labels with his gritty, lo-fi electro sound. 

AJB has opened it’s doors after 5 years to helping other artists as well.  Their first signed act is a band called Black Sky Caravan.  He also signed his brother Matt Baranello who is a huge name in the music world already because of his talent and experience.  And their newest addition is Lindsey Jennings. 
AJB has it’s own underground art space where they host photo shoots, video shoots, dance classes, rehearsals,  recording sessions and art parties.

Adam has been compared to Andy Warhol because of his unique, simplistic style of expression and funky art space parties but some, although  agreeing to their similarities, believe that Adam and Andy differ greatly on one major level.  Andy was a socialite and came from money and had connections.  Adam is a truly independent artist working diligently daily for what he stands for.  He does not have the ego of most in his field despite all of his accomplishments.  AJB Productions is not flashy, it’s not shiny and it will never make empty promises.  AJB Productions is kind of like Love.  You either are in or you’re out.  You either believe in what Adam and his work have to say or you do not.  It’s really that simple.
