It’s A Musical Weekend At Elmont Memorial Library

An array of musical styles presented free on December 4th and 5th
(Long Island, N.Y.) The Theatre at the Elmont Memorial Library, located at 700 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, is the venue for three superb concerts, all presented free, courtesy of the Library during the weekend of December 4th and 5th. With selections spanning classical music, holiday favorites and contemporary crowd pleasers, the Elmont Memorial Library’s Theatre is the place to be this coming weekend.
Beginning on Saturday, December 4th at 2pm, Czech born bass/baritone John Sandler will perform a unique program combining opera arias, Broadway tunes, and some nostalgic international popular selections. Sadler, who has been on the operatic stage for more than 40 years throughout the United States, presents something for everyone’s tastes.
The United Choral Society follows Sandler in concert at 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 4th. Concert goers will enjoy a wonderful musical mix of classical and contemporary masterpieces including Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, Loesser’s Baby It’s Cold Outside, Here We Come A?Wassailing, Shubert’s Mass in G and Mozart’s Motet “Ave Verum Corpus.”
Rounding out the weekend on Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 PM, “Home for the Holidays with Meritt and Moreau” will celebrate the holiday season. The ever-popular Don Meritt and Annette Moreau perform everyone’s favorite holiday tunes, combining music and comedy into one spectacular show.
