28 Caregivers Recognized During 20th Annual Caregivers Luncheon
Of the LI Chapter of the NYS Association of Health Care Providers
(Long Island, N.Y.) The Long Island Chapter of the New York State Association of Health Care Providers (HCP-LI) held its 20th Annual Caregiver Awards Luncheon during November’s National Home Care month. 28 caregivers with home care agencies in Nassau and Suffolk were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the home health care industry.
“For 20 years our industry has gratefully acknowledged those in the field through this annual awards luncheon and we thank member Eileen Gerard for once again organizing this event,” said LI Chapter President Mary Winters. “In-home care is anticipated to be an area of growth in America’s health system and HCP-LI is dedicated to providing professional support and guidance to caregivers in the front lines of providing vital care to patients in their home.”
The New York State Association of Health Care Providers was founded by Long Island provider agencies and has since grown to include chapters across the state. Agencies comprising the LI Chapter are primarily small businesses facing challenges to stay afloat in this economic downturn, and in the face of state budget delays and cuts, the new MTA tax and rising costs. According to Winters, “Despite these economic realities, this is a time to celebrate our industry and the caregivers who are dedicated to careers in home care.”
