At Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center
(Melville, N.Y.) Thomas Reilly, a deacon at St. Hugh of Lincoln Roman Catholic Church, has been joined by a new slate of officers on the board of trustees for Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center and St. Charles Hospital, all members of Catholic Health Services (CHS). Secretary to the board, Reilly is the former group vice president of operations for the King Kullen Grocery Company, and former president of Wild by Nature Whole Food Stores.
“During his many years of service, Tom Reilly has contributed an impressive enthusiasm for our mission, as well as substantial professional abilities,” said Chairman of the Board Salvatore Sodano. “As an officer of the board, he plays an essential role in the delivery of excellent health care services to the people of Suffolk County.”
Reilly is joined by the newly appointed chairman, Salvatore Sodano, Raymond Borsella, now treasurer, and the new vice chairman, Jerome Poller. Originally joining St. Catherine’s board of trustees in 2000—with a stint as chairman in 2007—Reilly remained on the board when the three separate hospital boards came together under the auspices of CHS in 2008 and since then has continued to serve as secretary. As a hospital board member, he has been on a number of committees, including Finance, Audit and Compliance, Human Resources, Mission and Ministry, Executive, Performance Improvement and Executive Compensation. His duties as secretary include preparing the agenda and issuing notices of all meetings, recording meetings and affixing the seal to and signing documents, at the direction of the board.
A member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and former chairman of its Finance and Operations Committee, Reilly resides in Huntington Station with his wife, Margherita.
