Party for a Cure
Community Care Companions and the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation host an elegant poolside soiree for charity.
(Riverhead, NY) – Community Care Companions has joined forces with The Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation in order to further their progress in fighting the disease. The mission is to increase support and resources for those suffering from PKD and to finance research in search of a cure.
Community Care will be hosting the poolside event on Friday, August 19th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at Hotel Indigo. It will be a summer night filled with rich food, premium open bar, live entertainment and people from all walks of life. Join other New Yorkers as they come together to drive positive change. The event will be moved indoors in the case of inclement weather.
Community Care has designed a website with all of the details including the food menu, information about the companies involved, and a donation center. You may also purchase your tickets on the site. We invite you to visit www.pkdccc.myevent.com.
Both organizations look forward to an enjoyable and successful evening. They are striving to create a more active community and provide assistance to those who truly need it. Polycystic Kidney Disease is common yet widely underrepresented and this event will help propel the search for a cure. All proceeds will be donated to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.

About Polycystic Kidney Disease
PKD is a disorder in which multiple clusters of cysts form on the kidneys, causing them to enlarge. PKD is a dominant trait and is commonly passed down through families. When cysts develop, the kidneys swell. This disrupts kidney function and causes chronic high blood pressure, kidney infections, kidney stones, and an over-production of red blood cells. Cysts may bleed which causes enormous flank and abdominal pain. PKD is also associated with brain aneurysms, cysts in the liver/pancreas/testes, and diverticula of the colon. The disease worsens over time and eventually results in kidney failure.
