Long Island Press Releases & News

Saturday February 11, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, February 12, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

(East Hampton, NY) Artist Adam Baranello’s piece titled “Choose Love” will be hanging at the 7th annual Love & Passion Art Show curated by Karyn Mannix Contemporary.

His work is a combination of pop and street art created with oil on canvas and mixed media on canvas and wood. All images incorporate his company, AJB’s logo which represents an original idea of music, dance, video and fashion. His music, art, choreography and fashion all are original and gritty making it in the realm of street art, yet the style and repetitious nature of it makes it pop, hence his genre of street/pop art.

The Love & Passion art show will be held on Saturday February 11, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, February 12, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Ashawagh Hall in the Springs, East Hampton.

Baranello’s work revolves around the concept of Music, Movement and Fashion. His artist Logo is a skull wearing a fedora and microphones representing his love for music and performance and any of his shirt designs or canvas work will have the logo somewhere in it. Why a skull? It has a few meanings behind it. One being that Baranello considers himself independent from the music industry which reminds him of pirates, and also a representation of creating until death.

Baranello has his own art space called AJB Studios where he paints, makes the clothes, records music and even has photo shoots and music video shoots. Although he has had a successful music career over the past few years, selling his music to people in 30 countries (due to the internet), most of his performances, art shows, workshops, etc. are held in Quogue, Southampton, Bridgehampton and East Hampton.

He is currently in collaboration with the Hampton Ballet Theatre School where they curated an AJB art show this summer and he also holds dance workshops and performances there.
