Keller Williams Realty Homes & Estates as part of community service initiative in the US and Canada
 
(Long Island, NY) Keller Williams Realty associates took the day off on Thursday, May 10, 2012, but it hardly was a day of rest! Associates with the Keller Williams Realty Homes & Estates office have chosen to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, one of the biggest events in the real estate industry.
 
Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,” RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service.
 
As part of the RED DAY effort, Keller Williams Realty Homes & Estates chose to spend the day with Hope House Ministries at their office on 1 High Street, Port Jefferson, NY 11777. Keller Williams Realty Homes & Estates Agents did heavy yard work and flower plantings at two housing buildings and at the office. Additionally, our associates restored a dilapidated garage/barn structure at a secondary housing facility. The Hope House Ministries Mission: “To provide compassionate, comprehensive and competent care for the poor, the marginal and the wounded among us. This commitment is woven in the Gospel vision that all life is sacred and every human person is unique and has the right to be respected and protected. Specifically, we are committed to young people and families in crisis, pregnant women and mothers and babies in crisis and all other wounded people, within our society, who are seen as abandoned and neglected.” www.hhm.org

During RED Day 2011, over 40,000 Keller Williams associates participated in activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, doing yard work for neighbors in need or revamping gardens at nursing homes totaling more than 190,000 hours of service making RED Day one of the biggest events in the real estate industry.
