Free fishing clinic at Brookhaven Town Beach on July 11
(Long Island, NY) Assemblyman Dean Murray (R,C-East Patchogue) would like to inform his residents that the Department of Environmental Conservation’s annual free fishing weekend in New York State is taking place on June 23 and 24. July 11 will feature a free fishing clinic at the Brookhaven Town Beach in Ronkonkoma. These events do not require a license to attend. The clinic will teach residents about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, fisheries management, angling ethics and aquatic ecology.
“Fishing has a long tradition in our communities, and Suffolk County is home to a bevy of wonderful locations to enjoy angling,” said Murray. “I highly encourage residents to participate in the free fishing weekend June 23 and 24, where no license is required to fish in any of our beautiful state waters, or register for the free clinic and learn more about the joys of fishing.”
The free fishing clinic at the Brookhaven Town Beach on July 11 will be held from 6 p.m. to sunset and pre-registration is required. To sign up, or for further information, please contact Ann Ezelius of the DEC at 631-444-0283.
