Progressive Party Calls Cronin a Champion for Working People
(Long Island, NY) Today, Working Families leaders on Long Island announced their support for Democrat Ryan Cronin for State Senate. A WFP nomination in the race will give Cronin the WFP’s line on the November ballot — Row D — and the support of WFP’s formidable activist base.
“I believe Ryan Cronin is a champion for working people. He supports raising the minimum wage and will fight back against the Republicans in Albany trying to bring us backwards,” said Lisa Tyson, a leader in the Working Families Party. “Ryan is a principled progressive who will fight for jobs and opportunities for all New Yorkers.”
“I’m proud to have earned the support of the Long Island Working Families Party,” said Ryan Cronin. “It is preposterous to me that the Republicans continue to work against commonsense legislation that would raise the minimum wage and create jobs in Nassau County. Long Island families deserve a leader who will fight for all our residents, and not just the privileged few.”
WFP members and leaders evaluate the records of all the candidates and only endorse those who will stand up for hard working families on issues like good jobs, affordable healthcare and quality schools.
Ryan Cronin is the Democratic candidate for the New York State Senate’s 6th District. He has been proudly endorsed by the Nassau County Democratic Party, the UFCW Local 1500, and the Working Families Party of Long Island.
A native of the district and graduate of Chaminade High School, Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree at Loyola College in Maryland. After returning home to work as the executive director of the Nassau County Democratic Committee, Ryan then earned his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Now a practicing attorney, he has spent much of his legal career representing victims of financial fraud. Ryan currently resides in Garden City.
