In 3rd Straight Filing

(Middle Island, NY) For the third consecutive filing period, self-made businessman Randy Altschuler (NY-1) has raised more money than five-term incumbent Congressman Tim Bishop.

In the pre-primary filing made public today, Altschuler tallied $245,324 to Bishop’s $227,483.  In the 1st Quarter, Altschuler outraised Bishop $214k – $197k and in the 2nd Quarter Altschuler bested Bishop $305k – $261k.  Altschuler is also topping Bishop when it comes to individual contributions, totaling $1,124,909 to Bishop’s $980,921.19.   Since he announced his plans to seek a rematch with Bishop, Altschuler has raised a total of $1,253,06.78.

“We have earned the Republican, Conservative and Independence Party endorsements; our primary opponent has dropped out of the race; we made the inaugural class of NRCC Young Guns; and we’ve outraised a five-term incumbent for three filing periods in a row,” said Campaign Manager Diana Weir.  “I think it’s pretty clear who has the momentum in New York’s 1st Congressional District.”
