(Long Island, NY) The Board of Directors of The Long Island Volunteer Center (LIVC) has elected Patricia Force as its new Chairperson. LIVC is a nonprofit organization that encourages Long Islanders to engage in service to their communities and mobilizes volunteers and donations to support community service initiatives. Force assumes the Chair position following the passing of LIVC President Emeritus and Founder Joan Imhof in late 2011.
A resident of Mount Sinai, Force began volunteering with LIVC in 2000 and joined its Board in 2008. Force has been active in many of LIVC’s signature projects, including Prom Boutique, and was instrumental in helping secure LIVC’s designation as the Regional Volunteer Center for Long Island by the New York State Office of National and Community Service last fall.
Force is Vice President of Client Relations and Marketing for Cliffco Mortgage Bankers in Westbury. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Long Island Volunteer Enterprise (LIVE), a corporate volunteer initiative, and President of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Port Jefferson Station.
