Dangerous Driving Conference to be Held at Suffolk Community College

DANGEROUS DRIVING CONFERENCE, DRUNK, DRUGGED, DROWSY AND DISTRACTED
(Brentwood, N.Y.) – Several prevention agencies have come together to host a Dangerous Driving Conference on Friday January 18th, 2013 at The Suffolk Community College in Brentwood (Health & Science Education Center) from 8:00am until 12:00pm. The event is being sponsored by Allstate. The objectives are to raise awareness about dangerous distracted driving issues and challenges facing our communities and identify resources and solutions to distracted driving that will save lives.
The conference will include a keynote from two individuals whom have incurred tragedies in their lives from distracted drivers. There will be important workshops with guest speakers representing NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, NYS Dept. of Health, MADD, LICADD, Suffolk County Police Motorcycle Patrol, Suffolk County Youth Student Panel, and the Suffolk County Sherriff’s Department.
We encourage your attendance if you are an elected official, health educator, SADD student member, SADD advisor, administrator, student, parent/guardian, private or school driving instructor, drug-free community coalition participant, prevention specialist, new driver or experienced driver.
The conference has been planned by the following agencies: Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD), Suffolk Coalition to Prevent Alcohol and Drug Dependencies, Inc. (SCPADD); an Affiliate of Family Service League, Long Island Youth Safety Coalition, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Suffolk County Prevention Resource Center at South Oaks, Education & Assistance Corporation (EAC), East End Counseling.
