700 on Long Island Participate In “Cycle for Survival” Fundraising Event Dedicated to Rare Cancers

(Long Island, NY) On Saturday February 2nd, nearly 700 participants in Roslyn, Long Island, joined the fight against rare cancers at Cycle for Survival, the national, indoor team cycling event that raises money to fund rare cancer research led by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Cycle for Survival is one of the fastest-growing athletic fundraising event and the only fundraising events dedicated to rare cancers as a whole. To date, Cycle for Survival has raised more than $24 million.

As the event’s founding partner, Equinox hosts Cycle for Survival events nationwide.

John Flaherty, former Yankees catcher and current YES television baseball announcer, and Dr. Richard Barakat, were there to present the fundraising total to date on behalf of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center today. Events also took place at founding partner Equinox clubs in Miami and San Francisco.
