Title: Inspirational Story Reading
Category: full of life
Blog Entry: They say that in the end, all that really matters is the connection and relationships people share. I believe and affirm this in my newest short story book about tenacity triumphing over trauma, In Love and Friendship.  This true story illustrates how a medical catastrophe created an inseparable bond between two ordinary middle-aged women and the Long Island community. Both Janek and her best friend Gerri Harkins worked together to help Nicole, a 7-year-old who nearly drowned but was brought back to life by emergency medical technicians. The young girl suffered severe brain damage that prevented her from walking or talking; she has to undergo frequent hyperbaric treatments. A story of courage, hope and survival, In Love and Friendship details Nicole’s recovery and how the author and her friend raised funds for Nicole’s costly medical bills. Janek and Harkins co-founded Hope for Nicole. “I believe anything is possible through love and friendship,” she said. Taking the time to write the story of this triangle friendship has empowered Janek with the strength and inspiration to realize that when one door closes, another one opens. In Love and Friendship is a true human interest story that touches the heart.  “Support is very important during times of illness and catastrophe,” Janek said, “and friendship, family and community love will get you through.” People who have experienced illness, need hope, courage and support to get through a catastrophe or those who want to read about love and friendship and where they can take you will enjoy this book, men and women alike.    www.pro-fusion.us - vjanek@optonline.net
