www.WeekendDating.com was launched in February 2003 to give busy Long Island singles a great new way to meet. We all know how difficult it could be to meet people nowadays. Many of us are tired of the whole bar and club scene. That's why Long Island Speed Dating events have become so popular. It gives you the chance to meet a lot of people in a short period time in a public location. The problem was that the majority of the Speed Dating events were either in Manhattan, or held during the week when most of us have work the next morning. Well that problem has now been solved. We know you work hard all week so our events are always held on Friday, Saturday, or Sundays. Events usually start around 8:00 PM and are over by about 10:00. This way the night is still early so you have the rest of the evening to enjoy. Most of our venues such as Cats Meow in Smithtown have a DJ and Dancing after the event so many participants stay and make a night of it.

Here is how it works:

Events are planned by age categories, Men (25-35) and Women (22-35); Men (30-40) and Women (26-38); Men (35-45) and Women ages (30-45); Men (40-50) and Women (37-47); and Men (47-59) and Women (42-55). Unlike most other companies, we do check ID to make sure people are registered for the correct age category. This is done to ensure that we deliver what we advertise.

You will arrive about a half hour prior to the planned event so you have time to settle in and get a feel for the location. Everyone receives a scorecard, nametage, and then you are ready to meet up to 20 potential mates in a series of 4 minute dates. After each of your dates you will discretely circle on the score card whether you would be interested in meeting with that person again. At the end of the night you will hand in your scorecard for us to tally. If two people both said yes, then that's a MATCH and in the next day or so you will each receive the other persons email address. There is no limit to the number of matches you can have. From there it's up to you! We also let you know one way matches (someone picks you, but you didn’t pick them), just in case you change your mind. Long Island Dating has just become much more fun.

Speed Networking for Business Professionals

Speed Networking is a relatively new concept similar in nature to the Speed Dating craze that has swept the nation. Instead of meeting potential dates, you will be meeting potential business contacts. The events are very structured, and you will meet individually with 12-20 business professionals for about 5 minutes.
