LONG ISLAND JUNIOR SOCCER LEAGUE

Long Island Junior Soccer League

The Long Island Junior Soccer League is a non-profit, educational organization, and is now one of the largest youth soccer leagues in the United States. It was established in 1966 and their mission is to foster the growth and development of youth through the sport of soccer. Long Island Junior Soccer League is a league that operates under the banner of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association, ENYYSA. ENYYSA is one of 15 National State Associations that are members of Region 1. There are a total of 55 National State Associations and four regions which make up the United States Youth Soccer Association. The League registers teams through member clubs under the age of nineteen at all levels of competition. Their goal is to emphasize fun and de-emphasize winning at all costs. The League also encourages teams to give every child equal playing time, regardless of his or her ability, and to teach the game in a healthy and enjoyable atmosphere.

Recently, the Long Island Junior Soccer League announced a 3 year agreement with SportsSignup to provide roster management, online registration, and risk management services to the league and its member clubs. SportsSignup's system allows players to register online via a web-based interface that managed independently by each local soccer club. Club administrators can then submit rosters electronically from the system directly to LIJSL, eliminating the need for a "paper chain" or visits to the league office.

As we all know, SportsSignup is a division of League Sports Services LLC that provides sports organizations with fully-integrated online registration, roster management, and coach and volunteer background checking solutions. Since 2002, the company has enabled administrators from hundreds of soccer, baseball, lacrosse, hockey, and many other youth sports organizations to spend more time on the playing field by automating many aspects of their duties.

The Long Island Junior Soccer League has conducted two full day camps at the Peter C. Collins Soccer Park. League summer camps are also run at participating club sites from June through August. The individual clubs usually choose the date and site. Everyone is welcome on their annual convention which held every first full weekend in March. There are exhibitors, clinics and mandatory coaches meetings-something that awaits you. And most of all, admission is totally free. So what you’re waiting for, come and experience the fun in the soccer world!
