NEW YORK GIANTS

The New York Giants

The New York Giants also known as the Jersey Giants, G-Men, and the Big Blue is an American football team based in East Rutherford, New Jersey. They usually train and play their home games at Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, which is shared as the New York Jets home stadium as well. The team is under in the Eastern Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). To distinguish itself from the professional baseball team of the same name, the football team was referred to as the New York Football Giants. Although the baseball team moved to San Francisco in 1957, the football team continues to use New York Football Giants as its legal corporate name, and is often referred to as such by fans and sportscasters.

In 1925, the team was founded by a successful businessman and lawyer named Tim Mara with an investment of $500.00 and became one of the first teams in the then five-year-old NFL. The first season for the Giants in the NFL the team was considered as gifted, indeed, upon finishing in 4th place, with eight wins and four losses. They played their first game against All New Britain in New Britain, Connecticut. By the season of 1927, the Giants experienced a huge winning moment as they finished the season with 11 wins and only 1 loss; the team became the NFL Champions as early as their third month in the National Football League. They became NFL Champions in 1938 by defeating the Green Bay Packers with a score of 23-17. Despite their struggles in the latter half of the 1960s and the entire 1970s, the Giants had still firmly established themselves as one of the league's biggest attractions.

Over the past years, the New York Giants have been known for being a strong team. Some of its players are driven with extraordinary passion in football, determination, hard work, great skills, and concentration. The New York Giants tickets continue to sell out due to the excitement that Giants games bring. As big as their name denotes, Giants will continue to achieve and strive for the victory that they deserve.

The Giants have used numerous uniforms and logos on their campaign in the National Football League. There traditional jersey colors are blue or red (or white with blue or red accents), and their pants alternate between white and gray. Currently, the Giants wear home jerseys that are solid blue with white block numbering, gray pants with red and blue stripes on the pant legs, and solid blue socks. For road uniforms, they wear a white jersey with red block numbering and northwest stripes on the sleeves, gray pants with blue and red stripes, and solid red socks. The Giants' current helmet is metallic blue with white block numbers, frontally mounted on either side of a red stripe running down the center.
