Searingtown, Long Island

Searingtown is a census-designated place located in Nassau County, Long Island, New York. It is considered part of the Greater Roslyn area, which is anchored by the Village of Roslyn and is governed by the Town of North Hempstead.

As of the 2010 census, there were 4,915 people, 1,567 estimated households, and 1,424 estimated families residing in the CDP. It has had a population growth of -0.28 percent. The average one-way commute in Searingtown takes 42 minutes. Majority of its commuters drive their own car alone. The estimated median income for a household in the CDP was $150,546, and the estimated median income for a family was $166,182. Males had an estimated median income of $102,834 and $87,995 for females. The latitude of Searingtown is 40.774N. The longitude is -73.656W. It is in the Eastern Standard time zone. Elevation is 128 feet.

Searingtown refers to the area west of Searingtown Road and Albertson the area east of Willis Avenue. The neighborhood has a mix of various types of housing. Recently 98% of the livable housing units were owner-occupied. Taxes on residences are higher here than most places in New York, which may reflect a commitment to education in the town. Searingtown public schools spend $12,554 per student. The average school expenditure in the United States is $6,058. There are about 14 students per teacher in Searingtown.

Searingtown is served by is served by Herricks Union Free School District which has three primary schools, one middle school, and a high school. The district takes just pride in their high academic standards which they believe that all of their students can learn at high levels and respect for individual differences too.

The Searingtown School is a K-5 elementary school located in Albertson. It is one of the three elementary schools in the school district. Searingtown has several fine restaurants, bars, and some small stores which led many affluent individuals and families to reside in this place. There economy grew rapidly after World War II. The real estate in Searingtown has also boomed. With very affordable prices on their houses and apartment rentals. Searingtown has a lot home styles to offer such as ranches, capes, split-levels, Colonials, and Victorians as well. House price value normally starts at $450,000 up to $950,000 respectively.
